Multiple POI categories from an SD acrd

I have a Magellan 3250. The other day, I was able to download and convert a file to .mgln and have it work in the GPS off of the SD card. Today, I loaded some more .mgln files onto the SD card. When I'm accessing them on the GPS from the SD card, I can only access one at a time. That is, I can locate all of the files, but I cannot have them all checked simultaneously. It seems as though I would need to have them all up and running so that I will receive the alerts from all of the categories that I designated to alert. So how do I go about getting the unit to recognize more than one category at a time?

Only one POI file can be active at a time

The simple answer is you can't. You need to build an intergrated file that contains them all (up to 10,000 lines). Below is some advise posted on this site that explains how to do it (I have this copied to a word file and just can't find the orginal posting to give proper credit). The bottom line is it works!

"It is much easier to just use a SD Card. I took both the Speed and Red Light .csv files and combined them into 1. Simply open each in Excel and in the 5th column type "Speed Cameras"(or whatever Category you want to assign it) then drag that down to fill in all the rows. Do the same with Red Light Cameras, then copy either one and paste it into the other and save it. When you open the new file in Magellan POI File Editor you can assign the lat, long, name, desc, and now the Category. It will then create 2 categories, one with all the Speed and one with all the Red Lights. Now you can set different icons and alert proximities for both.
Then you can do the same for any other POIs you want to have on all the time and just make one big POI file that will have all the categories you want separate."
