Trip Overview Map?

Hi,
Is there a way to have a Garmin 255 show an overview map, showing the entire trip at an appropriate zoom level, without having to push zoom out (-) many times? A few days ago, this GPS sent me on a nightmare trip because I was too lazy to verify the route and decided to blindly trust it instead. A one-touch zoom out/zoom in would make life easier and might exist without me knowing it. Advice greatly appreciated. Thx.

How daring...

.

Not sure if this works on the 255 series, but on my 750 I just press the green directions bar at the top of the screen (after I've started the route) and then select Show Map. It shows a map overview of the entire route.

..and it is so d*mn simple!

Also...

You can also just select the location you're wanting to go (if it's in your favorites or another POI) and before pressing "Go!", just wait a few seconds and a little animated screen/button will appear titled "Route Info". It will show you distance, time, and fuel cost (the latter presumably only if you have ecoRoute installed). You can then press the "Route Info" screen/button and it will show you an overview of your entire route.

Nice tip!

I've always used the zoom out, zoom out, zoom out, zoom o... method. This is much nicer.
