Has anyone tried to buy the latest maps from Garmin and then just load them onto an SD Card and plug it into their in-dash Kenwood DNX (7120/8120) unit and have it work?
It seems like, since the Garmin Navigation is basically the StreetPilot inside the Kenwood Head Unit, that you could load them like that and it'd work which, in my mind, would open the door for the lifetime numaps working on the Kenwood.
On the Garmin site they only speak of the Garmin SD Cards for the Kenwood units (ROMs) which, my guess, is there mainly because they don't want to have to talk to your average person about how to load the DVD/downloaded maps onto the SD card and have it work.
