Ssstutter Fix .....Mmmmaybe

No guarantees but so far this has worked for me.

I had the annoying 'stutter' with my 760. After trying multiple fixes (changing screen, voices etc) I tried something else. I deleted 'all' of the voices from the Nuvi then reloaded the one I always use (Karen) via Webupdater. Every day since (sometimes multiple times) for a couple of weeks I've had the GPS navigate whether I needed it or not and haven't heard a single syllable stumbled over.

If yours is one of the units with a speech impediment it may be worth a try. If it doesn't work it's only cost you a few minutes.

I don't stutter any more...

I got a 760 in late January, and out of the box it stuttered. It had V4.2 (or 4.3) preloaded. I upgraded it to V4.6, and it continued to stutter. Not a lot, but enough to notice. I used the TTS voice editor posted here, and made a few changes to the things "Jill" would say to me. Since then (probably a month now) I don't recall hearing it stutter. I haven't tried it with any unmodified voices, so I don't know if it's the modified voice that fixed the problem or not.

Stutter

I had the stutter problem after the last Garmin update. It was not a problem when stopped or going slow, just at speed. I updated the voices and after trying a couple of voices noticed that I no longer have the stutter problem Why/ who knows?
