I know!!

Let's pass a law that it's illegal to have that information on a device that alerts you to their presence. We'll fine everybody $100 for each device identified. We'll pay for the enforcement by taxing everyone makimg more than twice the minimum wage because they're rich.

A shame

It's a shame that any viewpoint can be listed as "Local News" and not opinion or comment.

It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.

Wow, that author of the

Wow, that author of the article is a real idiot.

To her claiming tax deductions is probably evasion of the law! How dare you deduct your medical bills over 2% of your income from taxes!!! You outlaw!!!

Some people should be outlawed from making very stupid news articles.

And newspaper publishers wonder

Why their industry is dying.

Articles like the one cited above are why...

Leveling the playing field

what gets me is that they automatically assume that if you have a device or information on police activities that you are breaking the law. "Scofflaws" is used in the article, one is not a scofflaw until one breaks the law and ignores the ticket. so they are assuming that not only will I break the law but then I will ignore my responsibilities.

Also, if the goal is truly as stated (and we know it's not) for safety then anything that gets drivers to slow down and obey traffic regulations is a good thing!

Exactly.

My point exactly. Thats's not news imo.
It's opinion and/or commentary and should be published as such. That's the proper context for it.

GPS and red light cameras working together

The stated purpose of red light cameras is to make an intersection safer by reducing the number of red light violations. If my GPS warns me that a red light camera is at an intersection and I don't run the red light hasn't the system worked as planned? Or is part of the plan to collect money from me as I learn a valuable lesson? Perhaps the cities and states should maintain the red light camera POI and provide them to drivers as a public service to make the roads safer.

Kudos!

That is one of the best ideas I've ever heard!! Alas, it makes too much sense so it will never happen.

It is from the NY Post after all...

Not exactly the shining star of journalism.

Journalism

So much for unbiased reporting; even from the NY Post I expect much, much better,

Better?

Do the words "NY Post" and "better" belong in the same sentence? wink

NY Post is not a newspaper.

That rag cannot be called a newspapter. Anything owned by Rupert Murdoch is turned into excrement. He had recently purchased the local neighbourhood papers in Brooklyn. This augers ill.
