How to Set proximity alert in "Feet" in the CSV

Can some one show me how to Set the Proximity alert in " feet" when createing the POI in CSV format ?
Thanks

When using POI Loader

When using POI Loader, set to manual mode, upload POI's to GPS and set distance you want for each POI file.

As an example, I set most of my restaurant POI's to 2000 ft.

My Rest Area file to 5555 ft.

My Truck Plaza Tourguide files to 7000 ft.

Easy to do in Manual Mode of POI Loader

My Garmin won't beep

I set the proximity for rest stops to 3000 but the garmin won't beep when approaching them. How do I remedy this?

The 4th screen in POI Loader has a dropdown menu for "Feet and MPH" or "Meters and KPH". You can then choose to either load in Manual or Express mode.

Which file are you using. You should be using the "Combined" file -- it has the locations positioned so that they will alert.

Proximity???

I know how to use POI manual mode setting. but what I mean is to set the proximity in the CSV when creating the POI individualy.

csv's aren't really designed to do what you are asking. There is the workaround of putting "redlight" in the name for a default of 1/4 mile proximity alert, or making a speed alert by putting a speed in the title that provides a 36 second alert: 60 gives you 36/60 of a mile. See: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/6764

Or, you do it the easy way and make a gpx file where you can just put in a proximity distance for each location. Try the free trial version of GeePeeEx Editor and you'll see.

You may want to look at this

You may want to look at this post http://www.poi-factory.com/node/21156 .It has the option that you can set the proximity for all the pois at once.Just download your csv file to it make changes and save as gpx.

Only one way in a CSV

The only way to set proximity in the actual CSV file data record is by adding an "@xx" in the name (col 3) of it, where xx is the speed you want to be alerted at. Then your unit calcs the proximity to be 1/4 mile at that speed or the equiv. if you're actually going slower or faster.

Other than that, the above mentioned methods will let you do similar through POI Loader or other software or file formats.

It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.

You can use the TourGuide in

You can use the TourGuide in the file name and add distance from 1/4 to 1 1/4 mile.See post http://www.poi-factory.com/node/7043 .6th post down.Don't have to use manual mode.
