.wav files and .mp3 files

Can .wav sound files be included with .mp3 files in Sounds?

.

Your unit must be capable of playing mp3 files if you want to use them as custom audio alerts. The 255W does not play mp3's. If you have a unit that does play mp3's, you can use a wav file as the alert for one POI file and an mp3 for another, if that is what you are asking.

This site provides many

This site provides many sound files. I have not looked at them all, but they appear to all be Mp3 files.

I was asking in this site could also provide the corresponding Wav file adjacent to the existing Mp3.

I have not used any sound files so I may be missing something. Wouldn't this be simplier for Nuvi 2xx and 2x5 users?

I believe you are correct about the sound files being mp3 files, this stems from the fact that until somebody discovered you could use wav files with sox.exe everyone thought you were out of luck if you gps did not play mp3 files. It may be time to start including them on the site... Hmmmm Miss Poi? I'm sure we can get some volunteers to convert them... rolleyes

Yes we are now accepting wav and MP3 files here at the factory

BobDee has already started to convert all of our MP3 files over to wav and I will eventually have them posted.

JM and I are about to announce another new tool to the site that we have been playing with.

Miss POI

Great News - I think this

Wav Files

I have converted 300 so far and sent them to Miss POI the rest should be done in the next day or so. This will give our community a set of files in both MP3 and WAV.
