Roadside attractions Anyone done a POI?

ahoy...i'm a real newbie and am taking off on my first GPS adventure. The Cat, the camper and the Capt and me are going from SF CA. to Austin Texas and back. i've loaded the Parks, city, state and national, the camping spots and the free wifi POI's. NOW i just need all those interesting places. You know...the biggest ball of string, Cadillac hedge, Bigfoots front room, Muffler Man, the Bra Bridge. i wanna see AMERICA at its most, hhmmm how can i explain it? The silly? kooky? original? huh? strangeness? The places you go WTF???
Can anyone throw out a lifeline of POIs to me?
Has this been done before? i know of the Roadside Americas website but i want the real scoop. Hubcaps covering a whole entire house, the biggest gnome garden, high heel shoe tree all of it.
i will try and make my own POI for the Factory whilst journeying too.

TIA

Roadside America

Where did you find 'em?

Nothing to be ashamed of . . .

. . . the list of poi's here is vast and it take some time to get acquainted with the offering. Most everyone here is real friendly and helpful, and doesn't mind helping a new member.

for JohnSpink try here:

Don't waste your liver on beer from a can brewed by a major label. Try a good micro brew, perhaps at a brew pub. At the same time you can check out how that new GPS works by plugging in this address and finding your way to it or to a brew pub of your choice instead.

PS. Don't blame me if it takes you through a bad part of town, I've never been there.
