Where is the pwr cord attached?

i agree,i have a c330 which has the power cord in the cradle and i have the 255w which plugs into the unit,dont really like it that way very much

C,mon Guys.Where does the power cord attach to your Garmin,the cradle or the unit?
I would really like to know before I buy a new one.

I had used a nuvi 200 prior to purchasing the 765t. I love the idea of the pwr cord going to the cradle. Just 1 less step needed to remove the unit.

My wifes 265t attaches to the unit and my 680 attaches to the cradle.

I've had both unit and love the fact that the power on a 7xx attached to the cradle. For those also remove the cradle from the car as a security precaution it probably doesn't matter where it attaches.

The external antenna on a 7xx attaches to the unit

A microphone (if used for a phone setup) attaches to the cradle as well on the 7xx series.

I have the 265WT and the power is attached to the unit. I don't like that myself because over time the contacts will loosen/bend. This is not one of Garmin's better ideas.
In regards to leaving the cradle attached to the dash, unless you live in a no crime area (I don't) you should take the cradle out of the dash anyway. That cradle is a target for someone to break into your car just to look around and see if you stuffed the unit in the glove box or between the seats carry all
