It looks like the Cardinals have a long way to go to be on your list, but this Sunday could be a good start.

let me be the first to make a prediction

Cardinals 17 Steelers 13 Go

Cardinals 17 Steelers 13 Go Warner and Fitzgerald!

Anyone

else going? I will be there driving a shuttle bus.

I think the Cardinals

I think the Cardinals defence will not play strongly at the beginning of the game and the Cardinals will fall behind quickly. Warner will be pressured and start taking chances which lead to fumbles and interceptions. It's been 6 years since a Super Bowl blowout (when the Bucs beat the Raiders) so I think the NFL is overdue for one.

Steelers 40
Cardinals 10

Warner is already a winner

Win or lose, Curt is already a winner.

One of the local Phoenix stations had an interview with Mrs. Warner, along with some other folks. It seems that many times the Warners get their meal paid by the establishment; so, in return, they pick up someone's bill and pay it. Way to go Curt!

Keys to the Cards

Keys to the Cards winning:

Stop the Steelers' Willie Parker running back at the line of scrimmage. Cards' Edgerton James must have the game of his life. (He wasn't on the Colts' Super Bowl winning team two years ago, therefore he will be especially motivated.) The Cards' passing game is potent.

Baltimore Fan

I have to admit, I'm not much of a Steelers fan, especially since they beat by beloved Ravens. That being said, I hope they beat Arizona; never really liked Arizona. Although, it might be nice to see a team that has been traditionally a doormat for the rest of the league to win something.

New NFL record on the horizon??

I'm looking for a sixth Super Bowl win for the Steelers! That's a new record, right? (In addition to Big Ben's 192 sacks since 2004--most in the NFL.)

I thought this thread had died

thanks to all for responding to my request.

As for the Cardinals, if the Steelers have to lose to someone, it won't be nearly as painful if it is to Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald, both great stories.

I bet Bill Cowher deep down

I bet Bill Cowher deep down hopes the Steelers lose. After all, it took him so ever long to win a Super Bowl compared to Chuck Knoll and here's this Mike Tomlin in the Big Game after just Year 2 as Head Coach.

Bill Cowher

Bill Cowher would like for the Steelers to win. After all, most of the current players are from when he was the head coach.

I hope it is a good game. No turnovers and lots of amazing plays on both offense and defense.

Advantage Cards

Hmmmm given the heat in Arizona, the Cards home, and since the Superbowl is being played in Tampa - I have to give the Cards a slim advantage. But I am still a Pittsburgh fan.

It will only be in the 60's here in Tampa at game time. We had a cold front move through. Its been raining since yesterday (the NFL Experience was a washout yesterday) but is expected to clear later today as the front moves south.

what a terrible sports weekend for me ...

man, I better stop routing for people/teams ...

first BJ Penn gets killed by GSP, then Federer loses to Nadal, and now the Cards lose to Pittsburgh in the SuperBowl!

Not one person/team I was pulling for won anything this weekend!

Congrats

Egads the Steelers pulled one from the grips of doom, Uh,
To the people of Pittsburgh, your all ok don't care what the others say, and wait until next year.

To the Phoenix Cardinal folks you almost did it, but better luck on your next trip back, that should be real soon.

it is still premature to say the Steelers are the greatest franchise in NFL history...there is the little matter of the Green Bay Packers dominating prior to, and into the beginning of the Super Bowl's existence...they have 12 championships.

I will just be happy with saying they are alone at the top with 6 Lombardi trophies, with the nucleus of a Super Bowl contending team every season still in place for the foreseeable future.

super bowl

Not that the Steelers aren't a good team, but I think if the Cardinal's wouldn't have made a bad decision just before the half, the Steelers may have lost the game. If the Cardinals would have kicked a field goal they would have ended the half with a tie ball game.

--
Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

Congrats to the Cardinals

Congrats to the Cardinals for keeping it close rather than falling off the rails. Congrats to the Steelers for persevering to the end with a late 4th quarter game-winning drive. The Cardinals give hope to the Texans, Jaguars, Titans, and even Lions.

I'm sorry. There's no hope

So I have to say No to your question, since you said in history!

What a great game! Very competitive and the Cardinals have nothing to be ashamed of.

Oh by the way DJS did you see that there is some controversy brewing over the GSP vs BJ Penn fight? Seems GSP ummmm possibly cheated a bit. Vaseline all over his back and chest! Ghezz what is the sports world coming to?
