Good Practice and Safety

I copied all my Nuvi files over to my home computer just so I would have a backup for safety purposes. With creating folders for custom POI files, deleting the foreign languages, etc, I thought it was the prudent thing to do. I also keep my important computer data backed up online.

I was just wondering who else backs up their GPS and what other safety precautions do you take? Thanks

I tripped going up the escalator and I fell for an hour and a half!

I was also wondering if that

I was also wondering if that is the prudent thing to do. Although some of the foreign languages are kind of fun to play with.
I don't want to screw this thing up, I just have a bad habit of not keeping my hands off of things.

first thing I did

First thing that I did, before even letting it acquire satellites, was to connect it by USB and back up all that I could. I'm sure there is data on the flash that we can't get to easily (including the serial number and the model, as well as things like the start-up picture that don't seem to exist in the normal "file system", but I figured it was better to get all that I could than not get it.

Great. I put in an sd card

Great. I put in an sd card with my best photos on it and replaced the startup Nuvi picture with my own picture. It is easy to do.
