sample files

I dont have the model you do but, Sample.... it that a poi or is that your audio book files, if they are audio books then you can delete them,I did on my 650.

They are in the POI folder. They say Nordiccyclopsample, UKcyclopsample.gpi etc. several of them. Wondering if they do anything I need or if they can be deleted to save space.

The can be deleted, but just as a good practice to start doing, I would suggest copying them to your computer before deleting them (or just moving them). That way if you ever find that you deleted something that you later wish you didn't you can put it back.

Mine didn't have them but I would guess they are what the name implies, samples so you can see how your extras features work before you load any custom POIs. They should not take up much space, and I doubt you will get back much by deleting them, but they will add clutter to your POIs so I would remove them when you start adding your own choice of POIs.

More space can be recovered if you delete sample jpgs in the pictures or photos folder (whatever it's called), and the real space recovery is accomplished when you start going after foreign languages that you will not use in the voice files.

Good advice. Thank you. I loaded some new pics on my SD card to use on it. Seems a bit slow at accessing them but finally picks them up. I think I will delete all the default jpegs.
My daughter likes the languages just to bug me so I might leave them for now.
