If you live or drive in Az now you will have to be very careful of your speed on the freeways if there is a construction zone and a speed camera in that zone ,,If they have the construction zone speed set at 40 mph then the speed cameras have also been rest to catch speeders, so be very aware will driving in constructions zones. This was on news channel 3 ,,3 on your side with Gary Harper.
If people....
If people would just watch the posted limits, there'd be no issues.

Movement against the cameras
I know that there are many raising their voices against the cameras, but I have to admit that they (cameras) have been doing their job, and not just as a "State budget filler". IMO our freeways are much safer now than they were just a few months ago. The only thing that needs to be changed is the speed limit. It needs to be the same for all freeways in the valley. I know that I-10 has been already in process of changing to 65, but there is a good part of SR-51 and I-17 that still has 55 speed limit.
AZ Speed Limits
When arriving in the Phoenix area I definitely noticed the drivers on I10 driving the speed limit. After seeing all the enforcement camera signs I could see why. No doubt these are keeping the traffic at or under the limit. The number of these cameras seems to be "overkill".
There are protesters and legislators now involved. They bring up the legal questions, etc.......

Not just lawbreakers, but some lawmakers, too

It seems it's not only the speeders that are against the cameras.
From today's Phoenix Business Journal (http://phoenix.bizjournals.com/phoenix/stories/2009/01/19/da...):
As with many other matters before the Arizona Legislature, it will be interesting to see how this develops.
Cameras Short Liveed
Arizona state highway cameras may be short lived.
There will still be many others around. Maybe too many too fast for Phoenix.
