Red Light Camera Files

Ok, I got my active member status, so I downloaded the red light camera file. Do I need to unzip this file, or will POI Loader do it on it's own?? Also, just to clarify, do I need to rename the bmp & mp3 files I downloaded from POI Factory to RED LIGHT CAMERA?

You must extract the files for POI Loader. It barfs on files with a ZIP extension. The alert and icon files must match the camera file exactly with the exception of the file extension.

You have to unzip it first

You have to unzip it first and then you will see the two files.Name them all the same except the extensions.

Redlight cameras.bmp
Redlight cameras.mp3

Speed cameras.mp3

Charlie. Nuvi 265 WT and Nuvi 2597 LMT. MapFactor Navigator - Offline Maps & GPS.

No mp3 required

You don't really need to install the mp3 files: The unit will then use the built-in bing and bong sounds (on a Nüvi 7xx at least, not sure on a 2xx.)

Speed File

If you don't live in AZ you don't need the speed camera files. Seem AZ is the only state to use speed cameras.

I have listings in AZ, DC, LA, MB, MD, NM, OH, TN, & WA

AZ is not the only state with speed cameras

Miss POI

Better look at that file again. Many locations other than AZ are using speed cameras.

Miss POI and I were posting at the same time with almost the same comments

They worked!!

I drove through several intersections with red light cameras today, and all the alerts worked perfectly. Thanks folks.

Cool!

I need to get my status as active so I can download those files!

speed camera's

California installed speed camera's in the past, but had to remove them as they were illegal in the state. They are in the process of looking a AZ records, and will problem change the law to allow them. The CHP police department said that when an officer issues a ticket everyone passing see it and this is a way to stop other people from speeding, a ticket in the mail is only noticed by the person getting the mail.
