I just downloaded a file called Quilt shops but when I go to load open it I get a message saying it can't be opened as the computer doesn't recognize the application that created it. What do I do now?

is the file a csv file if so then you must load it on to your gps then look at it

What type of file is it?
CSV files can be opened on the computer with Notepad or Excel.
GPX files can be opened with a number of programs such as MapSource and EasyGPS.
You must LOAD them to your GPS unit with Garmin's POI Loader in order to get them on your GPS unit as Custom POIs.
Don't need to open it
You don't need to open it to load it to your streetpilot. Run the garmin poi loader and it will install the file for you.
If you need to edit the file, you can right click on the file and then open with. You should be able to use excel, open office, notepad or word pad.

Okay, I got it with the Easy
Okay, I got it with the Easy GPS software. I had the POI loader on my computer but I didn't know what directory it should look in to find the file I wanted on my GPS. It was a .gpx file. I'm really loving this site. Thanks for the help.
