Updating to map 2009, anyone thinks it's worth it?
Certainly not worth it now, 2010 will be out in a few months. Updating in general depends on what model gps you have. If you have a high end model then MAYBE it is worth it to you. If you have a lower end unit like I do then you pay close to the price of the unit for the maps, would be far better to buy a new gps, get new maps, a fresh battery and a new warranty (and you still gat to keep the old gps). Remember that Garmin maps tend to be ut of date on the day they are released, so even if you pay for new maps you might not get that road that was built in your area last year.

If you live in an established area without a lot of new road building and don't travel a lot or only travel to established places then probably not.
If you travel to unfamiliar places where roads are constantly changing or being constructed then you want to be as up to date as possible.
As already suggested you should probably wait a couple of months for the 2010 maps. All maps are out of date when they're published but at least the 2010 would be a year less so.
Cheers

You can look here to view a preview of the 2009 maps and see if anything is updated in areas you are interested in. Like others have said, at this point I would probably wait until the new (2010) maps come out in 2009.
