How do I post my location

This is what the GPS reads

N 36° 07.104'
W092° 08 265'

Elev 438.70

I tried adding that and it said the info had to be within the US or Canada, it is though. Thanks!

David

.

You have mixed formats. This is what it should be;
N 36° 07.104', W 092° 08.265'

Look carefully and you will see the differences.

Adding it where? What is "it"?

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help. Location, Calico Rock, Ar.

I put

36.118401 under longitude
and
92.137751 under Latitude

and was given

* longitude / latitude must be inside USA or Canada
* longitude / latitude must be inside USA or Canada

This may help.

Have a look at:
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/19424

Make sure you have the correct format. The 'Help' section of POI Loader is a very good place to look.
The correct Garmin csv format is:
Longitude,Latitude,Name,Comment

1. The longitude and Latitude fields need to be in decimal format. If it's in degrees/minutes/seconds format, it has to be converted to decimal format.
2. The Longitude is negative if in the continental USA.
3. If the Name or Comment fields contain commas, quotes, linefeeds, etc, that complete field needs to be enclosed in quotes. Excel will automatically enclose these in quotes.
4. Be careful when using Excel as it will many times format a file in a way you don't want. Before using the POI, look at it in a Text editor (like Notepad) and check for correct format.
5. After creating a csv POI, check it with a POI checker like POI Verifier II. It will correct many errors, tell you of others, swap the coordinates if that option is selected, convert the coordinate format to decimal, check for duplicate entries, and more.

There's the problem....

Latitude values must be between -90 and 90 degrees. You entered the longitude value in the latitude field.

That must of been it I

That must of been it I posted. lon -92.08264 & lat 36.07103 and it was excepted. Thank you!

Guess I need to learn my navigation .

Yeah for the US longitude will always be negative and latitude will always be positive. A positive longitude with those coords puts you in the mountains of China north of Lhasa and West of Xining.

Hate to burst your bubble regarding longitude, but look at Cape Wrangell on Attu Island Alaska 52.91659, 172.45679 which is the most western point of the last island in the Aleutian Chain.
