Forum Suggestion

 

Hi All

Might I suggest placing an anchor in each post.

That would facilitate a direct link to the target post vs the target thread.

Users could then link the specific post and the referred party won't need to read the entire thread looking for the info referred to.

Unless of course, the forum design prevents this.

Just a thought.

Anchor point

I agree. Having a link to the exact post rather than the thread would make it easier to find a reference. Some threads are over 600 messages so a link to one of these threads is practically useless for locating the relevant post.

I see your point. I would note however, if the original post ever changes. The info pasted will become out of date.

Once a post is replied to, the ability to edit it goes away.

In the "quote" utility. If users would use the quote when responding to posts (but edit the original) it would be an instant reference to whatever is being responded to.
