Saving Google Map Routes to GPS

Has anyone figured out how to send a Route from Google Maps to a GPS?

I've got a Garmin nuvi 770. I've been able to save locations via the "send to GPS" function of Google Maps, but when I make a custom route, the "send to GPS" function is disabled by Google.

I've tried a few workarounds from the Internet, but nothing seems to work.

Thanks.

Re: Saving Google Map Routes to GPS

There are few others out there, however, I have used the Houghi Google Maps to Tomtom iternerary converter a couple times.

http://www.houghi.org/tomtom/index.php

the output is an TomTom .itn file. Not sure if this is available for Garmin.

Krieger.

You need to download the

You need to download the Garmin Browser Plug-in ( http://developer.garmin.com/web-device/garmin-communicator-p... ), follow instructions and install it.
After installing it, search for an address in google maps and click on the link "Send" on the top right side of the map. One of the options will be GPS.
Plug-in your gps to your computer and the info will be transfered over. The address will show up on under your FAVORITES.
Hope this helps

Google Routes to GPS

The last time I checked, Google did not support the download of routes to a gps. Google only supports downloading of individual locations.

You can download routes created with Mapquest and Mapsource.

This isn't what asked about.

gquintiliano - This isn't what I was asking about. I'm able to upload LOCATIONS with no problem.

What I asked about was how to upload CUSTOM ROUTES. When you get driving directions in Google Maps, even if you save them under My Maps, the only option under send is email.

Google Earth has the ability to send ROUTES to a GPS, but who wants to spend $400 dollars just to create ROUTES for a GPS.

There are some workarounds that I found on the Internet (Gmap To GPX, GPS Visualizer, etc) but I can't seem to get any of them to work proberly.

I was hoping someone in this group has found a working workaround or hack.

.

Nope.

Your choices, currently, are MapSource and MapQuest. or the workaround with TakeItWithMe (or the like) to convert the data to GPX.
