New 755t and already I messed up

Hi all
I noticed when I initially plugged in the unit to the 'puter is started to do an install. I dummed out and clicked the icon to safely remove Hardware the install failed. As I would expect.
Should have held fire.
Now it no longer offers to install software but still connects.
So:
- What was it attempting?
- How do I recover?
It was just installing the USB driver
It was just installing the USB driver and if it connects you are fine.
