RightWay GPS Navigator

Does anybody have any knowledge of this company? Their units are powered by ALK’s award-winning CoPilot Live satellite navigation software. I have used CoPilot Live 11 on my laptop.

Seems like they have great features for the price. Model 200 with 3.5" display on sale at Staples for $79.95 and Model 400 with 4.3" display on sale for $99.95 on Rightway website. Both models have text-to-speech to announce street names.

Rightway GPS

I know nothing about the company.

I'd be very wary of buying a "no-name" GPS.

That being said it seems to have pretty good reviews on Staples.com, but maybe they don't post low reviews. The only other reviews i can find are 2 at QVC.com which both gave 1 star. http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params....

Realize that this brand may not be around very long, you may have trouble getting updated maps and or support, and there may very well be no way to load custom POI's into the unit. Rightway also says the unit has 1.7 or 2 million POI's which isn't very many.

On the good side if you're looking for something at the absolute lowest price, the price of the unit makes it almost a "throwaway". It seems to have text-to-speech which is a very good thing for the price. The Co-Pilot software is supposed to be good. One of the reviews says you can keep tracklogs of your route too.

So it's totally up to you. If you don't like it, you've only spent $80 or $100. If you want to make sure support and updates are there, want to make sure you have the ability to load POI's from this and other sites, want traffic or Bluetooth, pay more and get a name brand.

transplant has been around

Rightway is actually Transplant GPS, which has been providing professional-grade equipment for a while. The nav software for the RW200 and RW400 is from ALK Technologies, which has been around for 30 years, according to their website. The QVC reviews above don't sound like they are actually the 200/400 models, which are pretty snazzy and quite new (only launched post-Thanksgiving).
If it's like other CoPilot software, it ought to load custom POIs (ov2, csv, etc). Also, you won't find other units at this price that include TTS and a 4.3" screen. Keep in mind, women tend to prefer the 3.5" model, because it easily fits in a purse for travel. Staples has the RW200 for $80.
Good luck.

Rightway RW200 experience

I purchased one of these this week from Staples since I had a coupon and some Staples Rewards money to use before it expired. I tried it side by side with my Garmin C380 with very good results. I like the Garmin better because it is a little easier to change functions on the go. The Garmin maps are a little more accurate than the Rightway. All in all, it is not a bad GPS for the money.

Rightway - Customer Service

Bought a RW400 as gift for daughter's first GPS..bought it directly from their site for $99.99...built-in speaker did not work...contacted support tech and had to sent back to have it repaired...Very Fast Service

Also, asked support tech how to load POI files to unit..since no colleges or universities were included with the RW400...Very Fast and helpful with this information....loaded a file found on this site and it worked perfectly...something happened to SD card...the GPS navigator would not connect....contacted support tech again...did some troubleshooting...nothing worked...Rightway sent me a new SD card overnight...sent old card back for support tech to look at and see what problem was...

This company has GREAT Customer Support and they responded to my e-mails the same if not the next day depending on when I sent it to them....

Thank you to the person who put together the POI file for the Colleges in the Midwest
