Purging unused files from c330 to make more room for POI's

I'd like to be able to load more POI's into my C330. Right now I'm about at capacity (1.52 MB), and I get capacity error messages if I try to load more than that amount. I've heard that the spoken language files are about 1 MB each, but I can't figure out how to remove them. When I hook up my GPS to the computer, I never see the C330 as a drive listed under "my computer". And Web Updater doesn't seem to have a "file remove" feature.
Any suggestions? Separately, do the v8 maps eat up more memory than the v7 maps? Maybe it's coincidental, but today I upgraded my maps to v8 and it seems like I have less room for POI's than I did before.

"Your suggestion would work on a mass storage device like the Nuvi but on
a 330 the Poi's are loaded in to internal memory that cannot be
accessed. In turn you couldn't delete anything from it just overwrite
the memory available. The voices are located in protected memory on that
unit. I'm sorry I couldn't come up with a work around for you".
Oh well.
