Does the custom POI blended in with the map's POI

Hi Mav,

My Garmin Nuvi 205W accesses the custom POI files through the "Extras" file. It places a "Custom POI" button there, click on it and the added POI files show up in an extended list. I put all of my custom POI's on a 4gb SDHC disk. When the disk is in the unit they show up in the Extras file like magic. You have the option of adding the files to the GPS units memory itself but I prefer to keep them on the SD Disk. Remove the disk until you need it if you don't like the GPS asking you if you want to load the POI's into memory every time you start the unit.

I think your answer should be post in the FAQ. Many new Nuvi users like me was wondering where those custom POIs went after I loaded it.

Once you click on extras keep going and touch custom pois to get them to show.Also if you load on the sd card you can stop if from asking you if you want to load to the unit.You should see option not to load.If you don't see the option just say yes to get to next screen and you will see option not to ask again.

As a new owner and user of a Nuvi 200 'Jeepus'(GPS), I have to thank you all for this site. I still don't know squat about anything, but this is amazing. I cannot wait to be able to load things that (at present) I cannot seem to locate on my Garmin. -- I needed to know about the SD card and am researching now to buy at lowest price and highest Gigs. Thanks y'all...

Custom pois and Garmin travel guide.May be other info on sd cards you can purchase that will show listed in extras.Other users may have some input on this.
