POI Loader!

Newer versions of Garmin POI Loader (v 2.4.0 or higher) have an option to uninstall all custom POI's from your GPS.

After selecting your GPS device, look for this option on the page that follows:

Remove all previously installed custom POI's from your device

Using this feature does not remove the built-in POIs that were pre-installed on your GPS.

This process has not removed the custom POI's I have installed. It congrats me on removing them but they are still listen under All FAVORITES. Any Idea. New Version of POI D/loader.

Thanks!

Favorites are not custom POIs and are not deleted by POI Loader. A reset to original factory status will do so but it resets all of your settings.

When I d/loaded a POI file

When I d/loaded a POI file which had several waypoints, they went into the favorites section of my nuvi200w. I don't understand why the POI Loader says "Congratulations you custom files have been removed". Confused!
I will delete them manually!

Thanks!

Here:

Make sure you read:

You need to run the poi loader and let it add the files to your gps. You should find the files under EXTRA - CUSTOM POI in WHERE TO.

If you manually copy a gpx file to the unit, they will be added to your favorites. When POI Loader says "Congratulations, your custom files have been removed," it is telling you that any Custom-POIs on your unit have been removed -- it has nothing to do with Favorites. After you remove the Favorites, you also need to remove any gpx files on the unit -- they belong only on your computer.

I made a Change!

I created a new folder for POI files. The ones I d/loaded earlier, I moved into the new POI folder. I ran POI Loader and the files transfered into my GPS just fine. Now, they are in the EXTRAS section. The category in the EXTRA's section list "Custom POI'S" and after pressing Custom POI's the menu list "All Categories" and "Speed Camera-45-US-GA-Georgia". After pressing the Speed Camera Section up comes the files. Finally some sucess with the files going into the Extra's section now.

Thanks All!
