If I download nroute will I be able to transfer routes onto my Nuvi 660?

I believe the Nuvi 660 works the same as my c530 in this regard. In that case, you cannot transfer routes, only Favorites. Also, nRoute requires Mapsource to be on your computer. Therefore, you would need to first obtain Mapsource from Garmin. Do a search on this site for Mapsource.

Yeah, Garmins site is confusing in that respect.
I obtained MapSource and downloaded nRoute. mkahn is correct when he says they are to be used together. I did read the documentation and installed it on my laptop and this is what I found.
nRoute is made for use on a laptop or other portable computer. It uses a serial connected GPS unit as the antenna and MapSource for its navigation database. nRoute will not work with the Nuvi series (I tried). The Nuvi series when connected to a computer cannot be used to navigate.
I even tried to connect the Nuvi with Bluetooth, yeah it only shows up as a head set device.
