What reviews are there on this unit? I think it has 2006 maps in it now,,,what is the update for these like in cost? Is this unit a respected GPS? Is the satellite acquisition speed? Thanks, sv

yeah, I believe they come with old 2006 maps but there is a 2008 map update CD available.

So far I'm disappointed with the MIO, the lack of map update should kill about anyone's interest in that unit IMO. Besides, the Garmin's GUI vs the MIO's GUI is really better,,,Garmin rules so far Thanks. sv
I'd Have To Respectfully Disagree
For the price of the current units, it's a great beginners GPS. It's a great learning tool and has been very handy in the little I've needed to use it. Obviously, a map update would be a great thing but given how little things really changes (except for new subdivisions etc.), I'd say the unit is worthwhile to have.
