Letter to Garmin

Dear Mr. Garmin:
Can you help me? I got my NUVI 680 in January for my 70th birthday, that is when I met
“Karen”. She was sexy and Hot! We got along fine and went everywhere together- she even
helped me find myself. Then one day she got upset with me for not doing what she told me and
yelled “Recalculating” in a sarcastic way.
So I went to the “Bar” where I met “Jack”. We got along fine and now we started going
everywhere together- To Colorado and even to Florida. Then I started thinking about Karen and
stopped to see her. I guess she was mad at me because I dumped her for Jack. She would not
even talk to me. So I went back to Jack and he also would not talk to me. Probably because I
went to see Karen. Now, no one will talk to me. Can you have one of your doctors talk to them
and see if you can get them out of the mute mode? I am lost without them and keep going
wrong.

I'm not sure what to think though. Are you really having problems with the sound?
If so, make sure mute is off. Make sure volume is turned up. Make sure that Karen or Jack is actually selected. If that doesn't work try changing to a foreign voice for a few minutes and then back to Karen or Jack.

Don't Know Exactly
I don't know exactly if this would help or not, but try doing a web update and seeing if there are any patches for your voice files.
Then do like the others said and check to make sure you aren't muted, volume is up for both mp3 and voice.
If this isn't working, I can check later tonight on something else for you.

I can understand at your age
I can understand at your age why you might just want to talk to Karen. Jilting her for Jack, who might be a better conversationalist and more believable in giving directions was probably a mistake.
Now, not hearing either might be a sign of a problem with your unit (like muting the voices), or unfortunately, a problem with yourself. Do you not hear cars honking at you while observing you talking, animately, in your car but with no other passengers visible? Do you find yourself asking the same question over and over again to Jack and Karen and not remembering that you asked the same question 10 minutes before? Do you constantly lose arguments to Jack and Karen and are starting to get depressed with the situation, thus tuning out those irritants? All those should be considered as well.

Last time I spent time in a car with "Karen" I endend up giving away half my assets and moving out of the house. But then again, the result would have been the same if I showed up with "Jack"...
