Why is it that the "import" car companies dont have to pay the Import Tax?? Our domestic car companies have to pay the tax to sell over there.

If the tax's or tariff's would have been collected from the get go, our auto industry wouldn't be on hard times. Why is it in Japan an American car is so expensive the average Japanese citizen can afford to buy one, could it be import taxes and Tariff's?

Again it's the lobbyists at work allowing imports in this country tax free and tariff free because of free trade,I am talking about the cars that are shipped here from overseas, not the small amount actually built here.
Also allowing American auto makers to build cars or to be in bed with off shore company's and still not pay the taxes and tariffs just adds to their own demise, and then want your and my help to bail them out.

If cars were built with American parts by Americans in American Factory's and all the Taxes were in place to make it prohibitive to sell a import car. The trickle down in manufacturing would be astonishing with the rate of jobs created down the line.

If all we sold was American Cars the price of them would also be affordable because, there would be a glut of American Cars.

So why Bail them out, if the problem isn't fixed. They will just come back for more. I say fix the problem then fix the auto industries.

Council was finally slated to tackle the wildly controversial Canyon Crest development last night. But that meeting was cancelled. Due to the fires. Which, um, devoured the Canyon Crest site. And one home in a development below it.

Might this inject even more emotion and complexity into an already emotional and complex debate?!

I am a new member here.

Want to ask if I could update firmware on my C330 for FREE which is now almost one and a half year old.

I also want to download some new POI's to my GPS for free....

It's a 3.5" old model, obviuosly I am looking to spent any $$$ on it.

Will appreciate response.

First off, let me welcome you to the group.

As to updating your C330, you will need a Garmin program called Web Updater, a USB cable, and your Garmin. The Web Updater is a free download from Garmin at www.mygarmin.com. Download the program and install it.

Hook up the C330 to your computer with the USB cable and fire up Web Updater. The rest is pretty much automatic.

To handle the POI files, same procedure except you need POI Loader, again a free download.

As you look through the posts, you will see references to Gary Hayman's Tips, Tricks, and other neat things web site. Read it and learn as it is a wealth of information.

Did a google map for Odessa, Just how big is that place, can hardly see it on the map.

On a map, its not much more than an intersection of two roads, with a Hess gas station in the southeast corner and a 7-Eleven across the street in the southwest corner. The aerial photo in Google Earth is dead on. That's all that's there!

Hope the Colts win today.They need to get back on track.

Just got back to So Cal-- went to Florida. On the way back, I stopped at Arkansas, Dallas, Socorro, NM, where I saw 1,000s od sandhille cranes and snow geese. I also stopped at Very Large Array, NM, [radio telescope]. It was a long trip and the diesel truck performed great. Mileage was a solid 19-20 when not towing and cheapest fuel was $2.33. I saw some stations selling diesel for $3.75.

Glad to be back and now getting ready for turkey!
