POI Alerts (alert only once)

Is it possible to only be alerted once when approaching a custom poi? Example, I have a Starbucks close to my home and has soon as my Nuvi 660 acquires a signal I get a constant reminder/alert for the next couple of blocks. Is it possible to adjust this?

what kind of alert would you like?

You could reduce the radius of the alert.

You could create a short 2 or 3 second mp3 and attach it to the starbucks poi and that would be your alert. Even if you got stuck within the radius due to traffic or whatever, it might still play 2 or 3 times, but might be more pleasant to listen to than an alert tone.

You could make the "annoying" poi locations a separate poi without the alert. Or just remove that location since it's near your home and you know where it is.
