Minor dislike
The alerts text box has been severely downsized so that the text is nearly unreadable.
I do like the increased processor speed, and the auto time zones.
yeppers
i see what ya mean there, i do love the faster speed of the unit, the lane assit is kinda cool in a busy area too
Everyday is a GREAT day :)
.
I agree with that one.
I like the fast satellite pick-up. Most of the time, I have signal by the time I enter my unlock code.
My favorite feature is the upcoming turn arrow. Yeah, the 255 has it but the TTS voice was so bad on mine I exchanged it for a 755.
Other than that, I don't think it's much of an upgrade from the 750 I've used...at least for what I use it for. It's faster but not by much. I wish I could turn off the junction view like you can on a TT. Another wish is to be able to turn off POIs.
It has frozen up once and shut off once by itself.
Dislikes...the current price since it just came out.
Tips: I've noticed on the POI screen that you can put all the address/phone/hours info on the third field of a CSV file to have it show when you select the poi. On a 4 field csv, the 755 only shows the name then you have to press 'more' to see the address and other info. Maybe they figured you don't need to see that as much since it's doing the navigation.

Wish: I wish I could assign photos to my personal POI addresses file like you can with favorites.

Touch Screen
I called Garmin on Fri about the lack of sensitivity in the touchscreen and they told me they expect that the first update will be out this week and includes a fix for it among other things that they didn't disclose.
This 765 is my first unit (I have had a 350 and currently have a 750) with a bluetooth and was wondering about others battery life b/c the one I have goes down fast. Also it seems strange that if the bluetooth is on and I move my phone out of range, when I return if I do not power off the Nuvi it still rocognises my phone and shows contacts etc. but incoming calls are not put through the Nuvi. If I power off and back on everything is fine.
and another observation or two....
I use the MSN traffic receiver from an older unit, and like the improved traffic screens. HOWEVER, once you use the receiver with the new unit (765 in my case) the subscription now shows expired when plugged into the old former unit, but still works on the 765.
I like that the mph icon was reduced in size and placed at the bottom left of the screen (I hated it on the 750 - way too big). I wish I could turn it off as many of the speed limits have changed locally.
I think the placement of the auto icon is too low on the screen. In map view mode, if you miss a turn, the street and the name have disappeared off the bottom of the screen. I prefer the older positioning. Street names in map view mode seem to disappear at about the 5 zoom level. So I now zoom out only 4.
Lane assist and 3D view seem to be of little utility in Phoenix so far, but I'll play with these and see if there are areas where these features are implemented usefully.
765T
love mine!!
