TeleType World Nav for Commercial Vehicles

I am trying to obtain any information on this GPS for truckers. My main concerns are reliability and is it user friendly. Anyone have any first hand info or experience with it?

Teletype GPS

I don't have experience with these units, but you can find user reviews on Amazon.com if you search for "Teletype GPS".

The reviews aren't generally too good, but they seem to be about the only ones with a database for commercial vehicles. They do come with truck restriction routings, hazmat routings, 12 million poi's, and up to a 7" screen for big rigs.

Their web site is http://www.teletype.com

Commercial GPS

That's as much as I have gotten. I've read their website. I just wonder if Co-Pilot for laptops would be a better bang for the buck. It does incorporate PC Miler. I have heard some less than flattering comments.
Thanks

Co-Pilot

Hi, mshea49.

I assume you're talking about Co-Pilot Truck 11 for laptops, as far as I can tell the standard Co-Pilot Live does not include PC Miler.

I really don't know much about it. IMHO a dedicated device is better than lugging around a laptop.

There is one review of the truck version on Amazon.com

The url is: http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B0015V8DKM/ref=sr_1_4_c...

I wish I could help you more. Good luck on whatever you decide.

I've used their consumer version (about two years ago) and ended up returning it. I've been using a MIO and been happy. This feedback is based on their consumer version little GPS.

Teletype GPS

Junk, I bought one, and sent it back! Most of the POI's are ones that don't do a truck any good, and if you would miss the turn, it was so slow you would be past the next turn before it told you to turn. I think the sd card system is just slow, they sent me a updated card, and it was no better. The speaker volume is to low for a truck, I will stick to mr Garmin 7200 7 inch screen, weight stations, rest areas, parking aress, some truck stops, and truck routing, and to much to list. This is my 2nd Garmin and will not buy any other. between Google maps and sprint tele nav on my sprint Mogul, I can find any thing!
