wow 2 weeks in a row,
hope everyone had a great weekend!!
Have a great week.
Hoping to get in some last Golf this week.
Not much longer now before we know who the new president is.
You mean before we vote, it's going to be interesting how long it takes to figure it all out after the law suites and such that will be filed because of corruption allegations before hand. http://tinyurl.com/5nof2u
Ohio being a State with a partisan secretary of state doesn't make it any easier, this just causes the lawyers to descend like vermin on polling places looking for corruption.
Ohio is one of the biggest prizes because its a very important state to carry in the election. It seems that no candidate can win the election without the state of Ohio, it’s only been done once since 1856 (by Kennedy) and it has never been done by a Republican.
Good luck to all eight Candidates!, and thank goodness it's all over except for our vote to see who would have won a popularity contest, then or course the Counting of the Electoral Votes to see who the next President is.
God Bless America
it doesn't matter who for, Just Vote!
Cleveland, OH (AP) - A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Cleveland courtroom drama today when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.
The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible.
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he admittedly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him.
After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Cleveland Browns, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.
... with the bad football jokes !
Besides, he should have been sent to the Detroit Lions. They have not beaten anyone this year !
it's the dog's fault
After all the months of political BS, we have decided to get away tomorrow after voting to a B&B in a Historical town about 100 miles away for a couple of nights. We requested and reserved a room WITHOUT a TV to avoid all the election return nonsense. Once we've voted it's out of our hands so we'll just find out who won on Wednesday !
This will be the 13th Presidential Election I will have voted in - I guess I'm just tired of all the rhetoric !
But, the important thing is "VOTE"
Well when we get up Wednesday it will be like christmas as we will know for sure who Made office from the president on down to local races. Glad when it's over.
I'm number nine, number nine, number nine again!
Where'd it go??? Wow... Thanksgiving will be here soon!
No matter who wins, let's pray that things don't get worse. I don't see how but who knows.
hi all. i am just waiting for all the stupid ads to end. all i see when i turn on the tube is political ads. but get this... the 2012 presidential race starts on 05 nov 2008. are you ready!!!
It's nice that we only have to go through this once every four years, especially since candidates announce two years early now.
After all this, I hope everyone votes, or at least all those who agree with me .
Our Pat's aren't doing very well. Matt has some big shoes to fill.
I keep telling myself "It's still early in the season."
Could not believe that the Jaguars forgot to get on the plane to go up north,Opps. i guess they are playing the POP warner this weekend.
is hearing all those political commercials on TV when I've already voted by absentee ballet. My wife turned off the TV yesterday and we won't turn it back on until late tomorrow night.
And thank God for caller-id for all the phone messages.
I for one will be extremely happy when this is over.
The 2011 Iowa Caucuses are right around a corner or two....
Hey, The Lions almost beat the Bears yesterday. Made me ashamed to say I am a Bears Fan.
Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!!!
The Post Office may have to go back for an increase when the election is over. They get such a boost with all the Political Mailings. Is it me or are we getting more and more Political Mail?
Don't forget to do your civic duties tomorrow. Go out and vote!!!!
♪♪ Dolphins ♪♪ ♪♪ Miami Dolphins ♪♪
The politicians get special rates and I don't think the post office even breaks even on it
Already done. Early voting. Two weeks ago.
Don't forget to Vote early and often.
Very long lines this morning 2-3 hour wait in the lines to vote everybody and there brother must be out voting
Toronto down to $0.85 L. this morning, I feel like I woke up 3 years ago...
I guess we're lucky here in a rural area. We only waited about 15 minutes to vote. However, I took the only machine which was free at the time, in which you inputted your vote electronically, and it printed up the ballot. When I put the ballot in the machine, it just took it in and still said "Put Ballot in Machine". They had to call the county clerk to open the machine and it took awhile. Oh well I did my duty and made it home.
Go out and vote everybody!
Finally the day is here for voting to complete.
Don't forget to Vote early and often.
That is how we in Chicago do it.
Don't forget everyone - after you vote, proceed to your Krispy Kreme, Ben & Jerry's, and, or Starbucks.
Free Donut, scoop of ice cream, and large coffee, respectively.
My polling place usually has less than a dozen when I get there by 6 AM. Today, I was number 4 in line at 5:30, and at least 75 people when the door opened. When I left a few minutes later, I would guess there to have been at least a hundred and twenty five voters.
So - keeping it related, load up the POI for the stops of your choice.
Happy voting day to all you Americans from your cousins up north in Canada.
One thing that struck me in the last couple of weeks was the amount of air play CNN give to Obama. Every time I turned to CNN they were going live to a speech Obama was making and stayed with him until it was completed. In contrast, they only played sound bites from McCain and then poor one's at that.
I lost some respect for the "most trusted name in news" as a result. I have long thought they presented a fair balance in news reporting, but then are elections not news?
Cheers, may the best man win.
I stopped by at about 8:30 a.m., there were moderately long lines... Rather than make people who have to get to work wait for me, I decided to return in a couple of hours. Lots of things to vote for besides the presidency so be sure to get out and vote....
Went to vote around 9;00AM. Lots of people. The School Bake sale made the wait go by quicker. Nothing like homemade cookies and cakes.
I spent the weekend visiting my son in Virginia. I couldn't believe all of the political ads on tv there. Made me glad that Texas is not a battleground state.
And they seemed to time their ads so that if a candidate had an ad, blasting his/her opponent, the opponent had an ad right after that saying that the first person was saying lies.
Can't wait til its all over, but lawsuits are already starting, so who knows when it will end.
Just returned after an hour and 45 minute wait in line to vote!!! @#!$?%!
Will vote before it is closed at 8pm. Hope by voting late, I would not be the citizen making the long line longer.
...and now we have a new president!
Not exactly a landslide as in FDR's first election, but it's a keeper. The ads will stop, but heaven help us all, the real work is just beginning.
Rally 'round the flag, boys....
sounded like church was on. we will need to support the new prez and it would have been either one.
Here in the Phoenix metro area the political ads have been hot and heavy. Not necessarily ads for the presidential campaign but definitely for Congress and the state held propositions.
I never thought I would see the day when car ads on TV would look good to me, but it certainly has come to that. Although the first few ads on Election night have been Christmas ads by Walmart. I guess November 4th isn't rushing that season as much as Christmas trees on display in retail stores before Halloween were!
Does this mean I don't get to see Sarah Palin anymore?
Hurrah for everyone!! Now to see what will get delivered and what will be swept under the rug.
"One thing that struck me in the last couple of weeks was the amount of air play CNN give to Obama"
CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC.
FOX leaned towards McCain.
Happy voting day to all you Americans from your cousins up north in Canada . . . . Cheers, may the best man win.
Does this mean I don't get to see Sarah Palin anymore?
I doubt this is the end of Sarah Palin on the National Scene. She will probibly be on another National ticket in the years to come given her age. Think of how many times Biden or John Edwards have run. This time Biden gets in as VP, but both Biden and Edwards have been in the Presidential Primaries several times. I suspect Sarah Palin will be as well in the years to come.
Now if she is electable or not I leave for further debate on other channels at other times.
Oh you haven't seen the end of Sara Palin! Your going to see plenty of her for years to come.
I wish to take this time to congratulate Barack Obama the 44th President Elect of The United States of America.
May God Bless our new President in January and may God Bless the United States of America.
Obama - 349 McCain - 147
The 22 month presidential campaign is way to long, it should be no more that 6 - 9 months. especially if a incumbent is running, it takes away from the operation of daily business of the president.
I hope President Obama can bring about the change that he promised.
Drove to Buffalo yesterday. Stopped on the Thruway to fill up. Big mistake. #3.19 a gallon for regular. $2.89 per gallon once I got off the Thruway. Back here in Cleveland, a gallon of regular is $1.99. Now 20 or 30 cents difference is one thing, but $1.20 a gallon difference!! That's highway, make that Thruway robbery.
If you'll recall, some two years ago, control of our Congress was taken over by the Dems. They "promised" change also. After two plus years, they've accomplished virtually nothing, and their approval rating is lower than ever. If our new President needs their help to accomplish his goals, I fear he's in big trouble before he ever gets started. I, like a lot of people, want to see some changes for the better, but our new President won't be able to do it by himself.
