Hands on with the new Garmin Nuviphone Videos

This is hopefully going to become available in the first part of 2009.

Below are links to some good videos of the new Garmin Nuviphone. If the navigation is as it appears here is like the current Nuvi line this would be very tempting. It also will mount in a cradle mount in the car the same as the current 700 and 800 series do.

Will have internet access, a built in camera that geo tags the photos it takes so other people you send them to can navigate to the point the photo was taken at. It will go from talking on the phone to gps navigation in the car without ever stopping the phone conversation.

It is supposed to work with many different service carriers and hopefully Verizon will be one of them.

I doubt this will release in

I doubt this will release in the the first half of 2009, they said the software wasn't even finished yet.

I can only hope they don't screw up like apple did and only make it available to one service provider, by doing so would make it just as crumby as At&T's expensive & spotty G3 service.
Competition makes for better products, service and for pricing.

The Major problem they will have to overcome is the same as all cell based Gps phones, slowly they are being outlawed in cars unless you use them as a bluetooth device only.

Hmm, doesn 't look as impressive as I thought it would. Not much better than my HTC Touch with Garmin Mobile XT.

Hard to tell how impressive it is, the software isn't completely developed yet.
