Mapsource and Icons

Well, I finally got my 2009 map loaded into Mapsource and now I have a question that I haven't seen addressed before.
I loaded a few personal 24x24 bmp icons into Mapsource and used them on some favorites in Mapsource. But when I transferred the favorites into my Nuvi 750, the personal icons didn't transfer. Will my GPS only use the default icons that are buried in my unit on my favorites?
I know I can use different icons in my POI files, so that's not my question.

I played around with this a while back and came to the conclusion that it was only the older units that supported this feature.
(That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the ruggedised Nüvi 5xx can do it - the concept of 'categorised' Favourites seems to made a comeback in that series, so maybe it can display the icons to go with them....which I realise, doesn't help you!)

Thus far, I have not found anyone who has been successful at loading custom icons from MapSource to a nuvi. You can do it with the handhelds, though.

OK, I have a handheld unit (Vista HCx), but I don't know how to load custom icons from MapSource or any other source.
