rest area combined

On a nuvi 350,when an alert is active, I could not get the GPS to return to the route. I got the message do I wnat to insert as a viapoint.
My question is how do I clean off the rest area alert and return to the route I am following.

I am not sure if I

I am not sure if I understand your question. When you have the alerts set, it shouldn't interfer with the routing at all.

The only time that you get "do you want to insert as a via point" is if you are already enroute and you try to set another route.

Charley - thank you for your reply. I got the alert for the rest area, did not turn off, but could not get the alert notice off the screen. Consequently, my route never re appeared. In hitting back, I got the via point question.
hope this clarifies

John

Same problem

I have had the same thing happen.

Haven't heard of this before but the next time tell it no and then it should take you back to your planned route. If this doesn't work we may need additiona info. good luck

If you had proximity alerts set - what distance did you have set for Rest Areas. I set them at 1 mile and it only takes about a minute for alert to disappear on it's own.

Alert

It is normal to have a red line at the top while "close" by. It should disappear on its own after you pass. The user should not have to do anything (but I do not have a 350). If you keep going you should return to the route normally.

You can't cancel the Alert condition (TourGuide Alerts differ in this respect, though you still can't remove the Alert banner from the screen).
Alerts don't affect the route, unless you make some further manual input.

One thing I hadn't noticed, is that (at least on the Nüvi 3xx series), pressing the Alert banner calls up the Custom POI details. One of the options on there, is "GO". Maybe you hit that - at which point it asks if you want to add this POI to your route (or replace the original destination).

(This is slightly illogical if you think about it ... why would you want your GPSr to route you to your current location smile )

The bottom line is, when the alert goes off, don't press anything!
