Nuvi 200 slow screen updates

I've recently noticed that while I'm driving, the screen on my Nuvi 200 updates about 2-3 seconds behind my actual position. That is, if I pass a certain side street, the vehicle icon on the screen isn't shown arriving at that street for another 2 seconds or a little more. This is very annoying, especially when the screen shows that you are approaching the street you are supposed to turn onto, when in fact you just drove past it. I thought there had been a thread on this problem in the past, but I couldn't find it. Has anyone else noticed the same problem? I have software version 4.40, and GPS SW version 2.50b, if that helps.

Are you using the 3D map mode?

Use the 2D map mode and the issue should go away.

Report the Issue To Garmin

I would report the issue to Garmin and request a replacement unit if Garmin cannot fix the problem. You should not be forced to view maps in 2D mode in order to have the unit function properly.

I have owned Garmins for five years, but the honeymoon is over for me. I am becoming increasingly disenchanted with Garmin.

Don't do that...

That's like the old joke where the guy (bending his leg) tells his doctor "It hurts when I do this" and the doctor says "Don't do that." 2D or 3D, the screen update ought to be more accurate than mine has become. I suspect the latest firmware update may have something to do with it, but I'm not sure; in any case, I'd like to get the problem fixed, and not have to settle for a "work around".

You know it seems to be happening to alot of different models. I'm wondering if the government is changing up the accuracy in the satellites for some reason. It just seems unusual to have multiple units having similar problems.
