c550 / SD Card uses?

I am used to using SD cards in cameras, PDAs, phones, etc. My question though is what is the use for them on my c550? (aside from the obvious use of pumping it full of mp3s)

I've seen posts here that say that they keep all of their POIs and pictures on their SD card, but I don't understand why. Even if you don't delete the extra voice files, there is still 600+ megabytes of space on the internal storage. The largest of the POI files that I've seen are only a couple hundred kilobytes, and the 320x240 pictures are only about 70 or so kilobytes each. I can't imagine that anyone has filled up their internal storage that way and they now have a need to use a SD card for the extra capacity. Do some units have very little or no internal memory at all?

I'm new to all of this, so maybe someone can clear it up for me. Thanks.

I keep the POI's on my internal memory. The music and pictures I keep on the SD card. I leave the pictures in the same directory structure as my camera does and I just move the card back and forth between the two devices. Any pictures I took on the camera are viewable on the Zumo. Just a way to keep things simple is all.

I figure the POI's I probably want all the time. The pictures and music I rotate around.

I keep most of my POI's on my SD card

I have a c530 which has less memory so I decided to keep most of my POI's on the SD card. The exception is that all of my traffic alerts i.e. Red-light cameras and speedtraps are kept internally as they do respond quicker which is important when you have a proximity or speed alert set.

Recently I got a second SD card at no charge and I keep this card in my PC. Whenever I receive updated POI's or new POI's I am interested in, I use POI-loader to enter the data on the SD card. When I go out to the car, I replace the SD card in my c530 and I have the newest files. The old one goes back into my computer. I know this is overkill, but what else does one do with a free SD card and a digital camera that uses Compact Flash.

My Zumo's hard drive is

My Zumo's hard drive is 1.2GB but only 170MB is free, so I use the 2GB SD card to store POI, mp3, pictures for the splash screen. This leaves the rest of the Zumo's drive available for routes, waypoints, etc.
