Red light cameras are being installed in Florida cities but the state has never authorized them. Here is an article where a number of them are being activated today in Orlando. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/orange/orl-b3repor...
The DOT produced a letter which backs up they cannot be used for enforcement but it seems the various local cities are doing it anyway. This is a link to the DOT side of the story. http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/19/1994.asp
I wonder if they are issuing the tickets knowing they cannot enforce them in court if they are challenged?
If anyone got a ticket in Florida I hope this helps with the court fight.
More on the subject
I also found where the Attorney General for the state wrote a legal opinion to the City of Pembroke Pines.

Thanks for that report, these locations have been reported by a few individuals now so they will be added to Wednesday's update.

I found an official release from the city of Aventura on more redlight cameras and their locations.
