More button, how to enter comments in a .gpx file

How do you add comments to .gpx files? I'm using a windows based cpu, and I have PoiEdit. I have been unable to enter the information I would like to enter for example, addresses, phone numbers, notes, etc. It appears to only allow a minmum amount of characters on the line. Some.gpx files I have downloaded from this site have this information, while others don't. I have been unable to locate a topic that describes this tasks completly.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.
