How to load SONY NV-U83T

Hi I am new. I am a NYC fireman and I would like to load the POI file with all of the locations of FDNY firehouse to my SONY NV_U83T. Any Help?

.

I wasn't able to find any indication that that unit accepts Custom POIs. Is there any indication in your paperwork for the unit that it does?

Thanks

Thank you for responding. The unit does hook up to the computer with a usb. And there is an address mamager. But the manual is not that clear. It seems as though the file is in the wrong format for the address book.

Sony NV-U83 Custom POI

The Sony comes with a POI manager on the CD, called the NAV-U Tool. After you install it, there's an address book manager you can use to define your custom poi's.
The problem with the few POI managers I've seen is you have to put in the POI by geographic coordinates. There are two ways to get those easily. One, depending on the GPS you have, is simply to save the location. If that's not possible, you can stop, get the GPS status screen, and the geo coordinates should be on that screen.
What i do is use Microsoft Streets & Trips. When displaying a map, under "Tools" click on "Location Sensor" and then wherever your point the cursor will appear as geo coordinates in a box labeled, "Location Sensor." You have to write the numbers down, and then enter them into the POI Manager tool.
You save the whole file, The file extension is .XML, which seems to be a pretty standard format.

Thanks for the tip on putting in coordinates you are at but can you download someone posted poi in another format and then convert it to the .xml format so my gps would accept and use it. Also can I name the location after save.
