Recen Software Updates/Unusual Behavior

Sorry I have not been around for awhile...hectic summer (but have been using my Garmin 660 throughout!).

Has anyone experienced any unusual problems after the two most recent software updates? I am now at version 4.5. I have found the following:

1. Seems to take longer to find satellites after turning the unit on.

2. I can no longer touch the miles to 'next turn' square and see the next turn. When I touch it, nothing happens except that it looks like it refreshes the screen briefly. If I have a traffic alert, it takes me to the traffic alert screen, as if I had touched the traffic alert icon just above it (no, my fingers are not that fat as they have been going through a hardcore finger slimming regimen of late).

3. Satellite reception is lost in tunnels. DUH of course it will do that, except that it didn't seem to before. Before the updates, it seemd to realize I was in a tunnel and carry through until it picked me up on the other side. I never got the poor satellite reception message. And now I can be in a long tunnel and it will almost make it through (lost reception literally 300 ft from the end of the Ft. McHenry tunnel near Baltimore) or it will lose reception very quickly in a very short tunnel (short tunnel near Atlantic City NJ)

4. Also, same trip, on 95 S, south of Philadelphia, it kept telling me to exit on various roads even though I was headed south to Washington DC. It apparently was not able to tell that I did NOT exit (it never said recalculating) and then had me get right back on the ramp to 95 S again. As if it wanted to take me on a little side trip on the service road only to get right back on the interstate.

I LOVE my Garmin but I am starting to wonder what's going on with it. Has anyone else seen this behavior?

BTW I was talking to my father-in-law who just bought a new Lexus and he informed me that he hated the Lexus navigation system since it so often gave him wrong information. He cited examples of it wanting to take him almost 9 miles out of his way when he was a half mile from his destination. He showed me at one point and it said we were 3 miles from the road we were actually on at the time!

I told him about my Garmin and how it is so good and that I trust it and it rarely lets me down. Now all of these proiblems are starting to surface. Still though waaaaay better than the Lexus system at probably 1/8 of the price. I wonder who makes that Lexus system anyway. Clearly not Garmin.

There weren't a lot of changes between 4.4 and 4.5

You might try going back to 4.4, some of the recent updates seem to be causing problems...
