when loading SW Campgrounds from east coast location

I am very new at this poi stuff and have plenty of room on my sd card but when i load southwest campgrounds it only goes out about 1800 miles from here in pennsylvania.... when i get closer driving to say arizona will more poi's show up on my garmin c-550?_____

Yes, for any POI list, the unit will show the 50 locations closest to your current position. The list will change as you move.

The rest are there and can be searched by spelling the name.

thanks alot for the quick response..... good to know that when i get closer to a destination more things from that list will be available.
I also typed in individual names like you suggested and it worked perfectly..... can't thank you enough

You can also use the "Near" feature

Don't forget, you can also use the "Near" feature to specify a target city before you select your POI list. Then it will show the 50 closest POI's to THAT location instead of your current location. So, pick a city and then your campgrounds POI and it will list the 50 closest campgrounds for you.
