Maps missing, missing software

Hi 1 If you did make a back-up on your PC there is no problem , just copy the missing files or even the whole thing directly to unit . I have a Nuvi 760 and I helped out a friend whit a nuvi 750 ,he deleted some files on the unit so I just copied all my files on his unit and all is fine .

I completely erased all the files in mine and reinstalled using a back up and everything worked just fine. The operating firmware is on a flash memory chip that you cannot erase.

Well, now I don't have enough space on the disk. It says capacity is 993.9 but my backup is over 1gig. Hmmmm

Have all the files been erased before you read the free space? If this was a backup it should fit if any and all remaining files in the units memory are totally erased first.

Did your son respond to the prompt when he plugged it in to scan the disc first or do a format on the units memory?

Well actually it's a backup off MY 200. I assumed they would be the same though. I guess not. I could try to zero out his unit and see what the space shows although it says the capacity is just under one gig and I need just over one gig.

If you didn't back up HIS unit then you are probably going to have to contact Garmin. The map file from your unit will not work on his unit.

When you run WebUpdater on his unit what error message do you get?

Web updater runs fine. It updated to the newest software and didn't notice the map problem.
