which is better shorter distance or faster time whats the difference between
faster time
Here is what I understand.
faster time typically is better since it looks for combination of distance and speed limit (highways) to calculate the fastest time.
shorter distance puts priority on distance only. It might pick roads that have slower speed limits.
Others will chime also.

Think of it this way, say you were going to travel from your house to the mall.
It might be only 10 miles away travelling on "regular" roads but that might take you 30 minutes with the speed limits, traffic lights, etc.
Taking the interstate to the same location might only take 20 minutes but that route might be 15 miles instead of 10.
So, it just depends on where you are going and how you want to get there.
Try looking at both and see which one looks better for you and keep in mind that it might be different for a different destination.

When I tried the Shorter Distance setting, my c340 was quiding me onto some roads that barely even looked like roads, and it had me driving right through some apartment complexes just because their roads appeared on the map between my current location and my destination. I now use the Faster Time setting all the time while driving, but if I ever try to use the unit while walking or riding a bike, that might be a good time to use Shorter Distance.
