Text to Speech??

I checked out the site but it doesn't provide ANY information about the files. More than likely these voices do NOT support text to speech. So this means the voices will not announce street names. Rather, they will just speak standard instructions. "Turn right. Turn left at next light?" etc.

Actually, that was my question, Do all words (IE Street names and exit numbers) get spoken or just a few primary words?

The Demo page only shows it saying Turn Left or Right.

Does anyone make true TTS voices for the Garmin?

I want HAL as my voice.

Just a comment

To Dog-Poop, I like most of what you say, but you picture with a KID SMOKING, every body now's and try to stop kid's from smoking and you use that as to represent you.....

Dear Bill,

I hope you know the HAL 9000 only calls the pilot "Dave" -- if that is not your name, he may not relate to you.

I have some wav-files of HAL, which I used in last non-laptop computer. When I booted up, HAL said: "I am completely operational and all of my circuits are functioning perfectly." When I logged onto AOL, HAL said: "Good evening, Dave." And then, of course for errors: "It can only be attributable to human error." I have eleven of these wav-files and am willing to share. I could not find the one that says "Good evening, Dave" but am sure I can find it somewhere.

These days I think I would rather have Alan Rickman for my GPSr. It is the flip side of the transaction as I have been compared to him.

The voice has to have TTS.
