You should contact Garmin right away and inform them of what happened. Hopefully you registered the unit in your name. That is one reason I put a password on my units, so if it does get stolen, less chance of use to anyone but me.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately, there is no way to remotely disable or do anything to recover the unit.

If you had enabled the Lock feature then there is no way for the thief to use the GPS.

If you purchase a new Garmin, make sure to enable the Lock feature and also create a splash screen with some contact information. That way if the unit is lost, a good samaritan may return the unit to you. And if the unit is stolen and sold to an unwitting third-person, that person may contact you since they will be unable to use the unit.

Once you get a new unit and LOCK it you may also want to invest a few dollars in a tag from http://www.stuffbak.com

If someone steals your GPS and discovers it's locked they will most likely toss it in the nearest dumpster. However, with the tag from stuffbak, they can send it in for free and get a reward and nobody gets into any trouble. Sure, the thief is getting rewarded for stealing your device, but it was already stolen and at least you get it back.

I was at Walmart last week and could not believe the car next to me had their front windows open an their GPS just hanging on the windshield. I was had hoped I would get to see them after my shopping but they pulled away as I was leaving the store. I guess some people are too trusting. My unit goes into my pocket when I leave the car on all stops. Sorry you lost your unit.
