Another Newbe with a Garmin Nuvi 750

Hia all.....

I just got a 750 for my birthday and, while it works fine, I have no idea on how to put POI's and extras in. Do I need a extra memory card? PC software?
I have managed to update the map to 2009 after purchase but thats all I know. Can you point me to the right posts?

Thanks.

Sent you an email that may help.

I'll also look for some POI's for a good Dentist & a Hair Stylist !!! wink

I have a nuvi 750, too... warning...

Menkaure,

I have a nuvi 750, too... warning... the POI's are addictive. I've created two, so far, and was working on the Zoo file when Miss Poi 'trapped me' wink and put the zoo file in my lap.

However, from the looks of your picture, I sure wish you showed up a few weeks earlier... the zoo file would have been right up your alley! grin

Welcome to the site!

Thanks... Having fun with

Thanks... Having fun with my 750 but I do not know one thing.
In order to have a lot of POI's, do I need a memory card or is there enough memory in the 750?
How does that work? If I install a memory card, will the 750 use it like regular memory or do I have to install stuff specifically to the memory card?

I'm glad you noticed my picture because I cleaned up a lot for the picture! mrgreen
Normally I'm not that handsome. cool

Yes - get an SD card (2mb should be good), and load the POIs to that card, rather than to the device. There is some room to load them to the device, but I always keep them on the card. Also, get POIloader (free program from Garmin or available here), and use it to load the POIs.

Your picture is wonderful, and I'm sure you clean up well......... laugh out loud

I haven't purchased a card yet to use with my 750. I have about 8 POI's loaded directly onto the unit that have about 7600 locations. I'm going to wait until it explodes first before buying a card.

I also have about 10 mp3's on the unit, just to hear how it performed. I have a Pioneer Inno (XM Satellite radio) hooked up to my car stereo. I'm not sure how much space I have on the unit, I really haven't checked yet.
