POI map icon problem

I purchased a Nuvi 660 in November of 06 and another one this week. I downloaded my POI file (originally compiled from a Magellan Meridian Color) from Expert GPS into each unit as soon as I got them but the new one does not show the blue flag icon for each POI on the map. I can pull a POI up and navigate to it otherwise but can't see it on the map. Both units have the same software version and the same version POI loader was used.

re: POI icon

I'm not familiar with Expert GPS but found this. It's part of a review on ExpertGPS 2007, from:

"Points of Interest:
ExpertGPS does not have an icon representation for POI, has limited search capability and you must download and plot the POI yourself."

If I read your post correctly, you have one unit that shows an icon and the newest one does not show it.

I would also guess that you have zoomed in as far as you can go to see if it appears.

If you have the bmp of whatever you want as an icon..blue flag for example, you could name it the same as your poi file, have it in the same location as the poi file and poi loader should do the rest.

I'm sure you will have plenty of 660 users that will reply soon.
