I usually start doing my Red light camera research as I get the emails into my inbox.
This week I started my research yesterday so if you submitted a location that is harder to find documentation it will be in next weeks update.
I have lots of locations to research this week and I like to verify them before entering them in.
Thanks for your understanding and patience.

lane enforcement
Do cameras target specific lanes, i.e., left turn or do they aim at all lanes from that direction?
Lane specific??
Most cameras will / can cover several lanes of an intersection. Depends on how they want to set it up...

Recent updates to the red light cameras file
How do I can get the Recent updates of red light cameras file?
Please can anybody send me?
Red Light POIs can be found at
the tab at the top of the web page. Active members can get them for free, others for a small fee. All of the info you need should be on that page.

red light camera file
Hello Miss Poi,
How do I can get the red light camera file?
11th of of August
Rhoque,
It looks like you will be getting your windmill on the 11th of August if you post again next week.
I have found that a lot of new members are signing up for the one month subscription for $5 so that they can gain access to the file and then by the time their subscription runs out they have earned active member status by continuing to post in 3 of the last 5 weeks.

Most of them I've seen cover the entire intersection, but it depends on the set up. There's a new one that was put up a couple months back by my work that only targets the left turn lane from one direction, because of some serious accidents from cars running the light in that left turn.

I know that I am an active member and have access to the file, but I paid last year, like you said to gain access to the file. I wouldn't trade my membership for anything and was wondering without becoming a new member can we make a contribution to the site?

The Monitored Intersections Might be Published Info
Do cameras target specific lanes, i.e., left turn or do they aim at all lanes from that direction?
You may be able to find the targeted lanes on the city government web site. Baton Rouge provides the monitored intersetions in the following:
http://brgov.com/RedLight/default.htm#Where
The fine for first offense is $117. I have been told that the fine in Lafayette, Louisiana, which is about 60 miles west of Baton Rouge, is only $25. Not sure why there is such a large difference. I guess it must be that either the cost is different, or perhaps Baton Rouge is making a bunch of bucks on this.

Cameras
There are several alerts in the town where I've been working that don't appear to me to actually be red light cameras. I've seen some there that are obviously red light cameras but there a couple of others that appear, to me, to be traffic control cameras. I keep meaning to get a picture of them and the coordinates to submit but work keeps getting in the way.

It depends on the jurisdiction
Do cameras target specific lanes, i.e., left turn or do they aim at all lanes from that direction?
It really depends on how much of the jurisdictional budget is being balanced from traffic violation fines. In the People's Republic of Scottsdale (Arizona), the red light cameras are being "upgraded" to catch violators regardless of whether they are turning left or not (see: http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/photoradar/Left-turn_photo_enfor...).
This is particularly lucrative in a town like Scottsdale that depends so heavily on tourism revenue. When they catch the suckers [ahem] tourists in rental cars, they just send the info to the rental car company, which slaps it on to your credit card days or weeks after you've returned home, so fighting it becomes, you know, impractical. "Candy from a baby" I believe it is called... Oh, no? Sorry. "Public safety law enforcement" is what it is called. Please come visit often.
Rental companies suck

I very rarely rent cars, but when i do, I always 'lose' that credit card as soon as I get home. I once had some budget rental place try to run a $2000 charge on my card, so ever since then...
Rental companies seem to be only slightly less scummy than mobile phone companies, I refuse to trust them.
If you wanted to play fair, why are you playing with me?
