(nuvi 650) help pease

 

just recived my garmin 650 but the speker doesn't work, it worked for a secend and then just stoped. i tried to connect headphones and i could hear anything. does somebody know what could be the problem.

try this

When you are showing the where to screen below the wrench the speaker icon, tap that and make sure it isnt on the mute, and check and make sure the volume is up,also tap the wrench and tap the volume icon and you have 2 icons showing one for navigation and one for mp3. and then if all those are ok try and do a master reset, that takes all the settings back to factory. Good luck.

tried all of that, after the master reset it worked for a sec, and then stoped working no sound at all. do you think there might be a problem with the Suction cup mount (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1462#)

Does it work when it's not connected to the suction cup mount?

Really check the mute box isn't checked

I wound up feeling silly when I called Garmin support and being told to check and sure enough there was a check in the mute box

i tried everthing but there still no sound coming from the gps. it works great but no sound at all what to do???

If you didn't purchase a stolen GPSr, you should be able to call Garmin and get them to walk you through the problem. Just make sure your "friend" contacts them and lets them know he has transferred ownership.

I don't feel comfortable diagnosing a problem with a unit that might belong to someone else.

i have allready send a email to garmin and regestridet

I have already send a email to Garmin for the Registration of the product under my name,(my friend didn't register the product when he bought it).
let's hope they reply soon. he didn't had the problem when he had the device.
so he wasn't able to help me.
